The beginning of your journey
it’s your road and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you. (quote by Rumi). Always remember this before starting your journey.
Tools you will need to survive and thrive in Uganda
f you’re an aspiring entrepreneur looking to establish a successful business in Uganda, certain tools are necessary for survival and prosperity. Perhaps you’ve been struck by a brilliant idea but lack direction on how to execute it; don’t fret, as this is a common challenge faced by many entrepreneurs. It’s crucial to remember that success cannot be forced, and inspiration will come naturally. Whether you’re already on Ugandan soil or planning a trip, having the right mindset and resources is essential for overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals.
Thrive and emerge above all the roadblocks and obstacles in your journey
We all want something, some sort of desire, a passion, a need to display our talents and abilities to the world, the journey isn’t an easy one, but it’s one we must all take and if you look closer Africa is one continent full of countless opportunities if you know where exactly to look, believe me, hidden gems are everywhere
Emerging from the ground to take control over your life and business idea
The first step is always the hardest, getting out of your comfort zone and deciding that enough is enough you want to change your life, get angry and start working towards achieving your goals, this is the first and most important step, you just can’t change your life if you’re not angry and motivated enough, am not asking you to go Andrew tate mood but if that’s what gets you off your feet do it.
Emerging requires the utmost discipline, motivation, focus, and all the masculinity you can gather from your life force, life is hard, especially for an African where it feels like this is where god puts his feet but despite all the hardships, countless people are making success stories every passing day, it’s not that they are special, they just follow a certain code of rules and when you get closer, you realize that they all follow a similar code IDEAS.
- INTELLIGENCE.
- DISCIPLINE.
- ENTREPRENEUR.
- ACCESS.
STRATEGY, but this is a topic for another day. For now, we are here to talk about the needed foundations of success in Uganda.
Here are the ten points in a summary of how to kick-start your career and business in Uganda
Set up a mind for a particular goal
a broken mind will never get you anywhere in life and that’s the unchallengeable fact, doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of madness, if you want something new in your life then you must your day-to-day habits, remember we are creatures of habits what we do repeatedly we become your habits will determine what you will become in life so make sure to select good ones
Set your goals and have a rational plan.
I think this is obvious, life is a battlefield and you can’t go to war without a proper plan, if you feel lost and have no particular plan in life, get a paper, or notebook, seat in a quiet place, and write every single idea that poops in your mind, the ideal number should be 50 but write whatever you can, summarise them to 5 achievable goals, it doesn’t have to be too farfetched, it can be something simple depending on your situation in life.
If this isn’t working for you, ask a friend, a relative, or someone you consider a role, believe me, l have had a chat with many of these successful people and they are all more than happy to give you some peace of advice.
Find your passion
This doesn’t have to be as convoluted as many of you think, a passion does not have to be something big although there is no harm in dreaming big we must still be realistic about our passion, everyone is good at some and if you’re not, you then get better at something along the way life, find your passion and don’t betray it
Always trust your family before friendships
I know many of you will disagree with me on this; I know the Ugandan family is hard to deal with, some always want to see you at zero, and some are always jealous of your success and accomplishments but remember the close members will do anything to see you succeed, don’t push those out of your life, they are the one who will stand by your side when your back at zero.
Don’t trust the system
If you’re a businessperson or even manage one, then you should already know that the system was created to see you fail, am not kidding, the Ugandan system only favors the top few, and that isn’t a secret anymore so please always work hard on finding loopholes and when you find one, exploit it to your depth.
Be a fool and avoid overconfidence.
A wise person knows nothing but has an open mind to learn and absorb all the basic knowledge he will require in life, always be open-minded to learn something new every day, and have the habit of loving complicated things as this will get you out of your comfort zone and teach you to make the hard decisions in life that require the toughest of
minds
Take risks, take chances, every action counts
Risk-takers are the victors of this world, taking risks not only helps you develop a tough mind but also rewards you with the different opportunities life has to remember, every risk you take will lead you to something great and when you succeed you win, if you fail, you learn a valuable life lesson so it’s a win-win, don’t be afraid of exploring the unknown boundaries, you are unique and that’s what makes you special.
Always trust god before everything.
God comes in many forms, whatever works for you use it, this is Uganda and we are diverse in culture and traditions, if my god doesn’t work for you then trust your god, we are here to learn, not judge it doesn’t matter which god we trust, always have a certain belief in the higher power, after all, we are creatures of worship, always trust and have faith in him.
Always believe in yourself and your work.
Self-doubt is like poison killing you slowly, we all go through these vulnerable days every person faces self-doubt no matter how successful someone is, instead we all have to get over these cold days of our lives and move on, staying in that same loop is a decision you will regret the rest of your life.
You will have bad days, we all do but remember you learn more on the bad days than the good days, and having a mindset of learning instead of complaining is the best thing that will ever happen in your life.
Bring that big idea to life, and put it into action.
Now that you have thought about what you want to do with your life, it’s now time to apply all the knowledge you’ve gained over a certain period, as they said the most challenging step is always the first one, this is the real world, this is where the going gets hard, ladies and gentlemen boggle yourself because this is going to be a hard journey, many will fail but as long as you follow these steps, am entirely sure you will succeed, remember self-discipline and good habits is key, gather all the accessible tools. Gather all the knowledge, and all the luck from your village and elders, and build your dream because it’s worth it.
Remember, it all starts with small excellence. You don’t start big. Every step, no matter how small it counts.
Conclusion
Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous in the end—one of my favorite quotes.
Remember you are worthy, you’re strong, you’re not here by mistake, you’re a product of strength, and all the strength and knowledge of your ancestors flows in your veins, please don’t disappoint them for they have sacrificed a lot for you.
